The Festival of Greening

OOC: Even if you have not presented yourself to the princess you may still attend and posted and mull around, this isn't vampire, you don't need to be acknowledged.

April 4th. the Informal, yet merry festival known as Greening. The Palace, still damage from Avinar's attack is still the site of a small, yet festive celebration. Numerous childlings are running around, with several Matrons gathering them around craft tables teaching them to weave garlands from the first spring grasses and flowers.

As the last of the sunlight lights the sky, the bards break off into corners telling stories and singing and the dancing fills the night.

No one has any need for fear as the Warders under the Command of Raine Silvaneous are the protection of the evening.

Entering the courtyard hosting the festivities, a large Troll looks around at those gathered and the ongoing activities with a smile on his face. He has long black hair in his true form, which is held back by a green leather tie to stay comfortably out of his face. He is obviously young, a Wilder Kithain of no more than 17 years. On his back he carries a large claymore, which looks to be sized appropriately for a Troll, but would dwarf many others who attempted to wield it. The sword is very intricate and well crafted, and Gabriel shifts its weight on his shoulders as he straightens the forest green tunic he wears with brown pants and boots. He chooses to lean up against one of the walls for a moment, obvserving the others.

Garyn arrives wearing a black leather jacket and mirrored sunglasses to hide his red eyes. He's also wearing his black leather pants and boots. His pants and jackets has various chains wrapped around the legs and arms for added effect to uphold his rockstar image. He grins as he looks around the place thinking that this just might be the kind of party he could cause some trouble in.

As the sun sets and the night starts, the green-skinned wilder Sluagh slips almost un-noticed into the festival. She keeps her bat-like wings close to her body as her black eyes take in the frivolities with an almost scared expression. She sticks to the edges of the party, nimbly avoiding running childlings and the dancing Wilders alike.

Letting her dark hair fall around her face, Shae seems content to just listen and observe, not really meeting anyone's eyes in the hopes of not drawing attention to herself.

The newcomers watch as several Boggans tend to the childlings.

From the gate leading near the castle a young girl dressed in black appears. She has long red and blond hair, pulled back in a silver, black and red ribbon. She carries only one weapon, a wooden handled kris which is tucked into her belt. Her beauty is stunning, more so than most Sidhe. She looks around those gathered and smiles, playing with some of the children.

After a few minutes, trumpets blare and a very large Troll comes out of the Castle.

"Lords and Ladies, ladies and gentlemen, our hostess of the Evening, Her Royal Highness, Princess Kylara ni Gwydion."

Entering wearing a green velvet dress comes a young girl probably 17 or 18 summers old. She is Gorgeous x 5, with bright blue eyes and long braided blonde hair. On her head she wears a crystal tiara, a constant reminder to all that while she is not queen, she is currently the power on the throne.

As she walks past the first group of people, they begin to kneel to her.

"Please, rise. Tonight's festival is about the children. Its about playing. It was not that long ago when I played as one of you. When I was mixed in among the crowd. Making garland wreathes for my mother."

Looking back towards the castle she claps her hands.

"Please bring food for the guest. Let them feast. The kingdom may be in ruins, but we shall enjoy Greening. I may be a Wilder, but I'll always be a Childling at heart."

With that the crowd cries out in joy. Several waiters bring out trays of food and set them on tables revealing a royal feast. The princess takes a place a table and sits fiddling with piece of grass.

Gabriel, upon hearing whom is being announced, instinctively begins to kneel, bowing his head in respect as he does so. When the princess tells them to not do so, he rises back to his full towering height and watches as the feast is laid out before them. He waits for the other attendees of the event to take their places at the table, not wanting to intrude upon the proper seating order based upon station or rank within the cout, and chooses a seat on the left hand side of the table. He wears a smile on his face, seeming to be enjoying the festivities, but at the same time it's easy to tell he has something on his mind.

Shae is just starting to bow when the princess asks them not to. She doesn't smile, but she does watch the proceedings with mild interest. As the table starts being filled, she tilts her head, but makes her way slowly towards it once the initial rush is done. She finds herself a seat, and doesn't get any food yet, just watching.

Nephele enters and stands along the wall she wears a simple red halter top and talks to the companion on her right shoulder smiling at everyone around her. She watches everyone with her eerie eyes lingering on the men in the room, especially the trolls.

For nearly a candle mark (read: one hour) the Princess moves along and talks to the different tables, of people. When you can overhear her conversations she is listening to childings laugh and tell jokes, but each time she passes an older wilder they lay their concerns on her, things like how are they going to survive, what about all the destroyed freeholds, what about all the dead knights. The verbal berating she takes from the grumps is even worse, especially from the few Redcaps in the gathering.

By the time she gets to the last of the tables, her bright blue eyes are still blue, but snow is falling in them. Her mannerisms are clearly sad. The young girl in black moves in close and whispers something to her.

“Childlings, this night belongs to you, but I fear the Matrons will soon shoo you off to bed. Wilders, dance until your legs grow weak, and then dance one dance after that. Grumps, you too were young once, remember that, for a dream never dies, it just gets old and forgotten.”

She pauses.

“I know things seem like all is lost, and for the time being we must be strong. I welcome all of those of you who have traveled to Shattered Dreams to help us rebuild. I invite you to visit with me so I may meet with you to know what your trades are. Do not feel this is necessary, it is nothing more than an invitation.”

“I bid you Good Eve.”

Shae watches the Princess closely as she makes her rounds, her shiny black eyes giving little away as they track her. The longer that she watches, the more she frowns, her fingers starting to tap on the table. When the Princess passes by the table that Shae is sitting at, she whispers a thank you for her hospitality, and remarks on how nice it is to be able to enjoy such a night, even after all of their troubles. She keeps her voice soft, even for a Sluagh.

As the Princess bids them farewell, Shae's attention turns to the young girl in black, following her now.

As Gabriel watches the Princess round the tables, he seems to be irritated with the others that lay out all of their problems on her, knowing that she has enough on her plate as it is. When the Redcaps start their rants on the Princess, he visibly has to stop himself from marching over to their table and shoving his fist down their throat. It's probably obvious to those around him he carries an emnity for the Redcaps, and he looks away from them by force of will when the Princess approaches him. He does not lay any concerns on her, simply letting her know that he is here and at her command should she ever need anything, before he goes back to his meal for now.

Garyn begins to hum to himself as he watches the events unfold. A playful smile playing at the corners of his lips as he observes the others in the room. Obviously he is considering trying to liven up the party a little.

Nephele watches everyone her eyes resting on the troll as she whispers softly to her companion on her shoulder. Her ears pick up the faint humming and she turns to smile at the Satyr moving to his side,

"Hello there."

Over where the children are playing, people start to notice that some of the children are playing hide-n-sneak. The children are calling out "Cam, come out come were ever you are!" As one of the children walks past a plant, you just notice that a person comes out of nowhere and says, "Boo! You found me!" The children are startled for a second, and then they start to laugh.

(Cam stands around 5’7” and appears to be average weight for their height. Its skin appears to be scaly. On his head there are small horns sticking out of his forehead. He has large eyes are hugely un-proportionate to his head. He also has a long tail that curls up into a spiral at the end tip.)

When the Princess walks past the children, Cam stops and smiles at her (but never looking he into her eyes). Once she continues on her route, Cam goes back to playing with the children.

When the Princess mentions the food; Cam tells the children that he needs a break and grain his energy. Cam gets up and heads over to the food. He grabs a plate food and a drink and makes his way to a spot where he can eat and drink. Cam looks around while eating to take in the feastival after the recent events.

A slender built young lady enters in the festival grounds ,wearing a simple sea green gown her long blueblack hair sweeped up into a high pile on top of her head ,her slightly green cast skin seemed to glow slightly in the sunlight. Her deep green eyes dart about at every one and smiles to the princess kindly . and walks up and courtesies to the princess "may all be well soon my lady ." saying in a soft voice,as Chelsea smiles to the princess .
